On August fourteenth in
Anytown, USA, Anna Garcia, a thirty-eight-year-old Hispanic woman, was discovered dead in her home at 9:56 A.M. A neighbor of
Anna called the police due to her unresponsive behavior and her dog’s unusual
loud barking. Anna’s neighbor reported that
he had last spoken to Anna the previous morning at 6:30 A.M. when she was
walking her dog. He also mentioned that she wore a sweater during a major heat
wave that the town was experiencing.  The police and the EMT arrived at the scene at 9:56 A.M. They found Anna lying face
down in the entry hallway of her 73?F house. The police identified four
possible suspects: Alex Garcia, Anna’s ex-husband; Lucy Leffingwell, Anna’s partner in business; Doug Greene, Anna’s
ex-boyfriend; and Erica Piedmont, Alex’s new wife. The EMT determined
that Anna was dead and the police immediately notified the CSI and medical
examiners to come and determine the cause of Anna’s unusual death.

            Summary of
Findings- Crime scene investigators collected several pieces of evidence from
blood types, unknown substances, hair strands,
diameter of blood splatter, DNA analysis, fingerprints, and shoeprints.
The team of investigators analyzed the evidence to determine the cause of
Anna’s death and to discover potential suspects involved in the crime scene.
The investigation team collected blood samples from the crime scene and
compared them to the persons of interest. They found out that the blood at the
scene was either Anna or Alex’s blood because they both shared blood type B. The
limitation in this method of analysis was that
several persons of interests could’ve had the same blood type which would’ve proven
nothing on potential suspects. The investigation team analyzed the unknown
substances to figure out if it was Oxycodone, Acetaminophen, aspirin, Methamphetamine, or Ecstasy. The team
concluded that the unknown substances were aspirin because the unknown
substances had the same reactions with
the three indicators. There were limitations in finding the unknown substances because some substances had identical chemical
properties which would’ve prevented the team from finding the unknown
substance. There were also several external factors that could’ve changed the
reaction between the indicators and substances leading to inconsistent data.
The investigating team examined the fingerprints, shoeprints, and hair strands
found at the crime scene and compared them to the persons of interest. During
the analysis, the team compared the hair strand from the crime scene to the
persons of interest. The team examined the hair strands and discovered that
Anna’s hair matched the hair at the crime scene. The team analyzed the shoeprint
by comparing the shoeprint from the crime scene to the persons of interest. During
the examination, the team discovered that the shoeprint at the crime scene
belonged to Anna because her shoe pattern was very similar to the shoe pattern
at the crime scene. The fingerprint
