generally came to pursuit a better economic while some came for freedom.
Currently migrants came from Asia more than any other country. According to the
Asian American voices, in general, Asian immigration does not speak English; English
is always adopted and showing signs of ancestry. Most prominent migrants are
Asian speakers who have enough to maintain their ancestral and English language
backgrounds in the Asian American community. Asians are not new immigrants for
this country, in the chapter 12, Huebner and Uyechi describe the Asian American
immigrants face learning and speaking English. Be a part of the language of
identity, negotiate in multiculturalism, racial, and linguistic discrimination
in the land of freedom.

Asian American voices chapter discussing Asian migration before Columbus will
be a compass in the Pacific and throughout Asia. Although Asian immigrants are
familiar, this chapter highlights the fact that Asian-American comprises

origin and languages. Asian family is a member of several relatives, including

over the world. Unfortunately, some refugees have been targeted by against
race, color, culture, and linguistic. The immigrant community is seen as a weak
target for bully. It is a struggle for new immigrants to know how to deal with
bully effectively because they cannot speak English. I cannot deny that I was a
refugee in the United States in the summer 2005, living on a daily basis without
being able to speak or understand English. I’m upset and ask myself how well I
can speak English as a spoken my native language. Every day I still have

experience my freshman year, I had a classmate named Honey Vang. Every
assignment Mrs. Lam needed some Hmong student to translate for me, made sure I
understand what they were doing and I wasn’t behind. Pheng Yang always
translates for me, unlucky him wasn’t come to the class that day. During the
assignment Mrs. Lam spoke to me but I don’t get what she said. Then I heard
Mrs. Lam asked Honey to translate Hmong for me, she rejected it because she
said she wasn’t Hmong. So she can’t explanation the assignment as a Hmong
language for me. Mrs. Lam asked why her last name is Vang, so she wasn’t Hmong.
She replied Mrs. Lam that her last name Vang, but she was Chinese. I don’t have
all what they were conversation, but I understand what they are talk about. In
fact, she was Hmong; I know it’s not a big deal that she rejects me because I
was immigrant. But she forgot who she was, where her parents are belonging to. She
rejects her parents as refugees before immigrant here.

I got away from people at school, when I speak to them; they made fun at my
English. I was hiding the pain inside, so they don’t bother me. I know what
they said, but I can’t talk back to them. Indeed, I was the victimized that
other children are learning to anti-immigrant. What motivates them to hate
others because we all speak different languages? Afterwards, I came to school I
don’t feel safe; I’m the most racist of jokes and mockery. All I have pushed it
down. I hide my feelings day-by-day, laughing with their jokes. Pretending
everything was fine, when they see me, I just smiling back to them the go away
from them. I dislike my owned linguistic sometime, if I was born a white, guess
I don’t have to deal with English; I don’t have to be immigrant. I’m so proud
of myself that I speak more than one language. Therefore, I blend my native
language with English to communicate with others. Sometimes it is difficult to
understand what I try to communicate with. I have nowhere, there’s no point
trying to change my English.

addition, mostly immigrants who learned to speak English; it ends up with
foreign language sounds. If you are pay attention to they emphasize some word
in certain situations, listening comprehension to their voices. You can see
their body language during they are speak without pronunciation. They words
still confused with people who speak native English. No doubt that English is
your second language, the pronunciation is not intelligible. When I flew to
Minnesota, I saw a group of white people conversation. They did not move their
lips and throat by actively using their tongue. For me, this is the hardest
part of speaking English. Hence, when most Asian immigrants grow up speaking
only their mother tongue, it means that when learning English, they have to
learn all the new sounds or try to use English as their primary language.
English learners who migrate to study English in Asia are concerned about the
accuracy of the pronunciation.

all languages ??are different place to place over the time. People who speak
their mother tongue do not understand that English-speaking immigrants are
accented by traditional Asian accents. Some immigrants people are study harder
than others who speak native English, it end up unable speak English as well.
Don’t worry too much it did not happen during the night. There is no royal road
when it comes to learning speak English. There is no time frame for learning
English. Some immigrant friends I met in high school and they still talk like
they just left the plane because they were never serious to English. It is not
easy because linguistic barriers and cultural differences. Anyway, English is
the most beautiful linguistics I have ever known. When they write or speak,
those words can draw you a picture of the conversation. And that is why I’m
still concentrating on learning this language. No one really has a perfect
accent; English is a dynamically dynamic language and fluctuates all the time.
